So Yesterday we the USA received a new president, he is our forty-fourth. I have many mixed emotions about our nation and it's future but this is not a blog about me it is about Addison. So I try to think about this as if I were Addison. At the age of one Addison is already living major History. I know technically every day she lives is considered history, but not every day goes down in the History book. Its amazing to know that when she gets to American history in High School she is actually going to have to study about this man who broke the race barrier in Presidential History. She is going to have to learn his name, age, what number president he was, what laws did he pass, and his major mile stones throughout his presidency. WOW... this man that America just meet over a year ago is going to be known forever as the first Black President! Obama is going to be President for the first 4 to 8 years of Addison's life, Yes President Bush was there for the first of it but, Obama is the president she will remember. It is such an amazing thought isn't it.As a mother I hope that President Obama does "Change" the worlds problems like he promised. I hope he does this nation a great deal of good, not just for me but for Addison. This nation needs help, we need someone who will stand up for us. I hope that All the good Obama has promised will actually happen. I guess the word is HOPE! I have hope for the future, for my beautiful Daughter, and for you Mr. President. So I hope Mr. President that you keep your promises so that our kids and our kids, kids will live in a nation of Peace. Wednesday, January 21, 2009
